Our Story

Sharing the silent stories of the harvest.

We started Cha Cha Chan because the modern tea world felt divided into two extremes: mass-market blenders masking low-grade leaves with artificial scenting, and traditional gatekeepers wrapping exceptional teas in academic jargon.

We believe in a simpler, uncompromised path.

Our mission is to serve as a direct, honest bridge from farm to cup. We don’t blend, add ingredients, or hide our sources. Instead, we partner directly with exceptional master growers globally, sourcing from generational farms in Asia to experimental estates worldwide to bring you a private collection of pure, single-estate leaves. Every tea you receive is a direct reflection of a specific terroir, a distinct seasonal flush, and agricultural craft.

Where agricultural craft meets contemporary design.

To honour the craft behind the tea, we avoid overly ornate boxes that make standard premium tea packaging feel wasteful. Instead, we use multi-utility pieces like reusable exterior wraps designed to serve a functional second life for your daily essentials.

Our creative focus rests entirely inside. Every package of single-estate tea you open is accompanied by an original, custom-illustrated narrative postcard detailing the true history of the harvest. We work directly with our growers to share their personal stories with you, uncovering the generations of craft and histories behind every seasonal flush.

Behind the Curation

We are a small, husband-and-wife team of curators and creators driven by a shared passion for tea, craft, and story.

Charmaine | Co-founder and Designer
ESTA and TBRS Certified

Marketer by day and artist by night, Charmaine has a knack for getting hands-on with all forms of design. Her passion for tea actually began through pottery; it was the raw craft of making the vessels that naturally led to her habit of drinking tea. Today, she has a particular appreciation for luxurious aged white teas. Her expensive taste needed justification, hence the birth of Cha Cha Chan.

Wei Jian | Co-founder and Curator
ESTA and TBRS Certified

It all started in 2005 while he was living in Taiwan, where he was completely drawn in by the local tea culture. What began as a passing curiosity quickly evolved into a full-fledged obsession spanning over two decades. Over the years, the line between hydration and hobby blurred so completely that he stopped drinking water altogether, replacing it entirely with tea. His tea consumption became so severe that by 2025, he realized the only logical way to justify the habit was to turn it into a business.
